Hardware Installation

Unpack and verify all components. Mount control unit in secure location.

  1. Mount control unit: Use wall brackets or place on stable surface.
  2. Install expansion modules: Insert into available slots on control unit.
  3. Connect telephone lines: Attach line cords to line card ports.
  4. Connect extensions: Plug telephone sets into extension ports.
  5. Connect power supply: Plug into AC outlet and connect to control unit.

WARNING! Disconnect power before installation. Use proper grounding. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Initial Configuration

Power on system; initialize basic settings.

  1. System initialization: Power on, wait for initialization complete tone.
  2. Set date and time: Use programming mode (Feature 00) or PC software.
  3. Program extensions: Assign extension numbers to physical ports.

System: Date/time, system password, night service settings. Extensions: Extension numbers, ringing assignments, class of service. Lines: Line assignments, ring patterns, distinctive ring. Features: Call forwarding, transfer, conferencing, hold, paging. Voicemail: Greetings, mailbox setup, message length. Automated Attendant: Menu options, timeouts, holiday schedules.

Connecting Lines & Extensions

Lines: Connect to telephone company lines. Extensions: Connect Partner phones.

  1. Turn off power before connecting lines or extensions.
  2. Connect lines: Use standard RJ11 cables to line card ports.
  3. Connect extensions: Use telephone cords to extension ports.
  4. Power on and verify connections: Check for dial tone on lines and extensions.

Tip: Label all lines and extensions for easy identification during programming.

Using Advanced Features

Supports call handling features and system functions.

  1. Call Transfer: Press Transfer, dial extension, announce call, hang up.
  2. Conference Calls: Establish call, press Conference, dial next party, press Conference again.
  3. Call Forwarding: Program forwarding destination via Feature codes.
  4. Paging: Use Page button or dial paging code followed by zone number.
  5. Hold: Press Hold button; retrieve from any extension.
  6. Night Service: Activate/deactivate via programming or designated phone.
  7. Automated Attendant: Record greetings and configure menu options.
  8. Voicemail Access: Dial voicemail access number, enter mailbox and password.

WARNING! Program features during off-peak hours to avoid service disruption.

Voicemail Setup

Configure integrated or external voicemail module.

  1. Access voicemail programming: Dial admin access code from designated phone.
  2. Record system greetings: Main greeting, after-hours, holiday messages.
  3. Create mailboxes: Assign extension numbers, record names, set passwords.
  4. Configure message settings: Message length, notification options, retention.
  5. Test functionality: Call from external line to verify operation.

Note: Default admin password may be required for initial setup.

Maintenance & Updates

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Backup programming: Regularly save system configuration via PC software.
  2. Check battery: Replace backup battery annually or as needed.
