Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable desk surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from your network switch/router into the LAN port on the phone.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Plug an Ethernet cable from the PC port on the phone to your computer's network port.
  3. Apply Power: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) from your switch, or connect the external power adapter to the DC IN jack.
  4. Connect Handset: Plug the handset cord into the dedicated jack.
  5. Connect Headset (Optional): Plug a headset into the headset jack.

WARNING! Use only the approved Avaya power adapter. Ensure network cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Power on the phone; it will attempt to boot and register with the IP PBX.

  1. Initial Boot: The phone will download configuration from the TFTP server specified via DHCP.
  2. Check Registration: Look for your extension number and name on the idle screen. The "Register" icon should be solid.
  3. Set Preferences: Press the "Settings" button to adjust time/date, ring tones, display contrast, and language.
  4. Program Speed Dials: Use the admin web interface or phone settings to assign numbers to programmable keys.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during firmware upgrade. Ensure proper ventilation.

Advanced Call Features

Supports standard PBX calling features via SIP.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press SPEAKERPHONE/HEADSET, dial number.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press SPEAKERPHONE, or press the flashing line key.
  3. Hold: Press HOLD button. Resume by pressing the held line key.
  4. Transfer (Blind): Press TRANSFER, dial target number, press TRANSFER again.
  5. Conference: During a call, press CONFERENCE, dial second party, press CONFERENCE again to join.
  6. Redial: Press REDIAL to call the last dialed number.
  7. Call Forward: Configure via web interface or feature access codes (*72, etc.).
  8. Voicemail: Press the programmed MSG key or dial your voicemail access number.

WARNING! Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners on the keypad or display.

Accessibility Features

Adjustable Ring Tones and Volume: Set different tones and levels for line 1/2. Visual Alert: Flashing LED for incoming calls and messages. High-Contrast Display: Adjustable contrast in settings menu.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water only.
