Initial Setup & Connection

  4. Wait for Boot: Phone will initialize and register with the IP Office or Communication Manager system.

Voicemail Configuration

Initial voicemail setup requires system administrator provisioning and user personalization.

  1. Mailbox Creation: Administrator must assign a voicemail mailbox to your extension.
  2. First-Time Access: Dial voicemail access number (e.g., *17 or a programmed speed dial) or press Voicemail key.
  3. Set Up Password: Follow prompts to create a secure PIN (typically 4-10 digits).
  4. Record Name Announcement: Record your name for caller identification.
  5. Record Greeting: Record a standard greeting (e.g., "You've reached [Your Name]. Please leave a message.").
  6. Configure Settings: Set message length, notification preferences, and greeting schedules.

CAUTION! Choose a PIN that is not easily guessed. Do not use sequential or repeated digits.

Accessing Voicemail

Multiple methods to access your mailbox.

  1. From Your Phone: Press the Voicemail key or dial the access code (e.g., *17). Enter PIN when prompted.
  2. From Another Internal Phone: Dial your extension number, wait for greeting, then press * or # to interrupt and enter your PIN.
  3. Remotely (External Call): Dial company main number, dial your extension or voicemail direct number, enter PIN at prompt.

Tip: Use a headset for clearer listening and recording when setting up greetings.

Managing Messages & Greetings

Supports listening, saving, deleting, and forwarding messages; recording multiple greetings.

  1. Listen to Messages: Select "New Messages" or "Saved Messages" from main menu.
  2. During Playback: Use dial pad shortcuts (1,2,3,7,8,9) to control playback and manage message.
  3. Delete/Save: Press 7 to delete current message; press 8 to save it to the saved folder.
  4. Forward Message: While listening, press a soft key or dial code (often 6) to forward with or without a preface.
  5. Record Greeting: Select "Greetings" from menu, choose greeting type (Standard, Busy, Unavailable), follow prompts to record, listen, and save.
  6. Change Greeting Schedule: Set system to play different greetings based on time or call forwarding status.

WARNING! Deleted messages may not be recoverable. Review before deleting.

Notification Settings
