Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Use Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port to your network switch. Use PC port to connect a computer.
  2. Power the Phone: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) from a supported switch, or connect the external power adapter to the DC port.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug the handset cord into the dedicated jack on the phone base.
  4. Connect Headset (Optional): Plug a compatible headset into the 3.5mm headset jack.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapter. Ensure network cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and attempt to obtain network configuration via DHCP.

  1. Initial Boot: Wait for the phone to complete its startup sequence. The display will show initialization progress.
  2. Check Registration: Once booted, the phone should register with the call server (e.g., Avaya IP Office). The extension number and name should appear on the screen.
  3. Configure Preferences: Press the "Settings" button to adjust time/date, ring tones, display contrast, and language.
  4. Program Keys: Use the Admin menu or web interface to assign functions (line appearances, speed dials, features) to the programmable keys.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during firmware updates.

  3. For headset use, configure the audio path in the phone's settings (Headset or Handset).

Advanced Telephony Features

Supports standard and advanced PBX features.

  1. Making Calls: Lift handset or press Speaker key, dial number, or use a programmed speed dial key.
  2. Answering Calls: Lift handset, press Speaker, or press the flashing line key.
  3. Hold: Press Hold button. Retrieve by pressing the held line's key.
  4. Transfer: During a call, press Transfer, dial target number, announce, then complete transfer.
  5. Conference: During a call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again to merge.
  6. Call Forwarding: Activate via feature code or settings menu (Forward All Calls, Busy, No Answer).
  7. Voicemail: Press the Messages key or dial voicemail access number.
  8. Directory: Access personal and corporate directories via the Dir key.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on keys or handset cradle.

Accessibility Features

Adjustable Ring Tones: Select from multiple patterns and volumes. Visual Alerts: Flashing Message Waiting Indicator. Display Contrast: Adjust for better visibility. Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC) Handset: Available as an option.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or sprays directly on the phone.
