Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable desk surface.

  1. Connect to network: Use Ethernet cable from LAN port to network jack.
  2. Connect computer (optional): Use Ethernet cable from PC port to computer.
  3. Connect handset: Plug coiled cord into handset jack.
  4. Connect headset (optional): Plug into headset jack.
  5. Power the phone: Use PoE from switch or connect power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapter. Ensure cables are not pinched or damaged.

First-Time Setup

Power on phone; wait for boot sequence.

  1. Network registration: Phone should automatically obtain IP address and register with IP Office server.
  2. Set language: Press Settings button, navigate to User Preferences > Language.
  3. Adjust display contrast: Press Settings > User Preferences > Display > Contrast.
  4. Program feature keys: Press Settings > Feature Keys to assign functions.
  5. Set date and time: Usually synchronized from server; manual setting available in Settings.

CAUTION! Do not disconnect during firmware upgrade. Ensure stable network connection.

  1. Turn off phone and devices before connecting.
  2. Match cables to ports (RJ-45 to Ethernet, RJ-9 to handset).
  3. Ensure PoE switch provides adequate power or use adapter.

Tip: Use Cat5e or better Ethernet cables for Gigabit performance.

Using Phone Features

Supports making/receiving calls, call holding, conferencing, transferring.

  1. Make call: Lift handset or press Speaker, dial number.
  2. Answer call: Lift handset, press Speaker, or press Answer softkey.
  3. Hold: Press Hold button; resume by pressing Resume.
  4. Transfer: During call, press Transfer, dial target, press Transfer again.
  5. Conference: During call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again.
  6. Call forward: Press Settings > Call Forwarding, set mode (Always, Busy, No Answer).
  7. Speed dial: Press assigned feature key or dial code.
  8. Voicemail: Press Messages button or dial voicemail access number.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on keys or handset cord.

Accessibility Features

Hearing Aid Compatibility: Handset is HAC rated. Ringer Volume: Adjustable in Audio Settings. Visual Alerts: Message Waiting Indicator and flashing LED for incoming calls. Large Font: Option for larger display text in User Preferences.
