IP Office Edition

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Network cable tester
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Punch down tool
  • Ethernet cables (Cat5e or higher)
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch or injectors

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, away from direct sunlight and moisture sources.
  2. Rack Mounting: Secure the Avaya IP Office control unit in a standard 19-inch rack using provided mounting brackets.
  3. Network Connection: Connect the system to your network switch using Ethernet cables. Ensure proper VLAN configuration if required.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power supply unit or use Power over Ethernet (PoE) for IP phones.
  5. Phone Configuration: Connect IP phones to network ports and allow them to auto-configure from the IP Office server.
  6. System Initialization: Power on the system and initialize using the Avaya IP Office Manager software.
  7. Test Configuration: Make test calls between extensions and to external lines to verify proper operation.
