Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Network cable tester
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Punch down tool
  • Ethernet cables (Cat5e or higher)
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch or injector

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. System Planning: Determine the location for the IP Office control unit, ensuring proper ventilation and network connectivity.
  2. Network Configuration: Configure VLAN settings and QoS for voice traffic prioritization on your network switch.
  3. Phone Registration: Connect Avaya phones to the network and register them with the IP Office system using MAC addresses.
  4. Power Connection: Connect phones using PoE or dedicated power supplies as required by the model.
  5. Extension Programming: Program user extensions, voicemail boxes, and call routing rules through the system administrator interface.
  6. Trunk Configuration: Connect and configure SIP trunks or analog lines for external calling.
  7. System Testing: Test internal calls, external calls, voicemail, and all configured features.
